Cathay Pacific Airways last week opened a brand new lounge for First and Business Class passengers departing from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Located on Level 4 in the Departure Hall of Terminal 1, the newly renovated Taipei lounge features the airline’s new lounge design.

The 1,253 square metre lounge can seat up to 245 guests, and offers “a comfortable environment, with an emphasis on understated luxury, where First and Business Class passengers can relax before their flight.”

Living room-like lounge Designed by Studioilse, a London-based design studio led by Ilse Crawford, the lounge showcases Cathay Pacific’s new brand design ethos - a focus on relaxation, engaging the senses, and overall wellbeing. Lots of warm, natural materials like wood and stone have been employed throughout the lounge to create a living room-like atmosphere, rather than that of an airport lounge.

New Solo Chair The Taipei lounge is the first to feature Cathay Pacific’s new Solo Chair, a wide seat with high partitions on either side to give passengers privacy. Each chair also has a side table, reading lamp and a coat hook.
