The new hotel will be located at Keflavik Airport outside Reykjavik, Iceland's largest airport and also the base of national airline Icelandair. The hotel is currently known as "Icelandair Hotel in Keflavik”, but will be converted into "Park Inn by Radisson Keflavik International Airport”. The revamp is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2015. The hotel is 8 minutes from the airport terminal and a shuttle bus will be available to transport passengers between the terminal and the hotel. A blue lagoon with hot springs is 15 minutes away, and central Reykjavik is 35 minutes by car or bus. The hotel has 60 rooms and suites, and will also offer a restaurant, a lobby bar and 470 square metres of meeting space. There is currently a gym in the hotel that will be renovated with an expansion and a spa. The hotel also has its own indoor parking. Carlson Rezidor already operates two hotels in Iceland, two Radisson hotels in Reykjavik.
