This week, British Airways opened its new lounge in Singapore’s Changi Airport. The lounge is the latest milestone in BA’s £5 billion investment into customer experience. It is located in Terminal 1 and features The Concorde Bar, exclusively accessible to British Airways’ First customers and their eligible guests.

Robert Williams
, head of Asia-Pacific sales at British Airways, said: "Our new lounge is a toast to the heritage and glamour of flying. Its environment is perfectly designed for and tailored around the needs of the modern premium traveller. I am confident that our customers, whether they are travelling on business or going on holiday, will enjoy the privacy, state-of-the-art facilities, and incredible artwork on offer.” Access to the new lounge is available to British Airways’ First and Club World (business class) customers, British Airways Executive Gold and Silver members, and Oneworld members with Emerald and Sapphire level.
Bar area The lounge has undergone an extensive four month renovation and the new interior is a blend of local influences on top of BA’s signature lounge design. It is a notable improvement on the previous lounge, not just in design, but also capacity, with an increase of 42%. The better use of space means seating for 185 guests in the main lounge, and 41 in The Concorde Bar.
Seating area The main lounge aims to be a place where guests can “relax, eat, drink and work”. Drinks and refreshments are available from a centrally located bar and buffet, while big-screen TVs and high-back leather winged chairs offer a place to wind down before a departure. The lounge also features a ‘study zone’ with workstations, a wireless printer, plenty of AC and USB sockets, shower rooms, coat check and baggage storage, two PCs and free WiFi. Works of art from some local talents as well as british artists are showcased throughout the lounge.
Workstations The Concorde Bar is exclusive to first class passengers, with a password needed for access, and offers a novel design compared to the rest of the lounge. It features sofas, seven private booths, a high-top table for working, and high-backed leather winged chairs. The lounge is adorned with black marble surfaces, European oak flooring, and "electronic walls” that display a digital panoramic view of Singapore that changes according to the time of day. The ‘Concorde’ brand is taken from the luxurious Concorde Rooms found in Heathrow and New York, and is expected to be introduced at other lounges in BA’s network.
The Concorde Bar The lounge will be open from 3pm to 11.15pm, coinciding with the departure of BA16 to London. British Airways have been flying to Singapore for 80 years and currently operate twice-daily services between Heathrow and Singapore.
