To celebrate the unique, natural light show of the Aurora Borealis, often closely associated with Iceland, Icelandic airline Icelandair have adorned one of its aircraft with a special Aurora Borealis design. The idea was initially to alert travellers between Europe and North America of the opportunity to make a stopover in Iceland, but now the aircraft itself has become something of an attraction. It is not just the exterior that is special, the inside of the aircraft also offers quite an experience with a beautiful one-of-a-kind mood lighting that recreates the Northern Lights for passengers in the cabin. The aircraft, named Hekla Aurora, serves all Icelandair destinations in Europe and North America. Where Hekla Aurora will be flying to in next few days can be found on Icelandair’s Hekla Aurora website.
