Vistara joins Air India with flights connecting Mumbai and London

Vistara, the full-service Indian carrier backed by Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has enhanced its European footprint by launching nonstop flights linking Mumbai to London. As part of its recent consolidation with Air India, Vistara now operates an extensive fleet of 59 aircraft, including four next-generation Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, two Boeing 737-800s, and eight Airbus A321neos, ensuring a premium experience on long-haul routes.

Commencing June 1st, Vistara’s Mumbai–London Heathrow service operates five times weekly, complementing Air India’s established presence on the same sector. This move positions Vistara to compete directly with both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways on the lucrative Mumbai–Heathrow corridor.

Vistara is already well-known for its direct flights from London Heathrow to Delhi, as well as connections from Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle to Delhi, offering seamless travel options for discerning international travelers.

According to CEO Vinod Kannan, the decision to add the Mumbai–London route reflects a marked increase in demand from travelers seeking Vistara’s award-winning service between India and the UK. The airline has signaled further ambitions to broaden its European network in the coming months.

The route is operated by Vistara’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring three distinct cabin classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.

Business Class guests on Vistara’s Dreamliner enjoy spacious 44-inch (111 cm) seat pitch, true lie-flat beds stretching to 76 inches (193 cm), six-way adjustable headrests, dedicated storage, multiple charging points, an 18-inch (46 cm) ultra-HD entertainment display with touchscreen remote, and customizable ambient lighting. Exclusive dining, priority check-in, expedited boarding, and premium baggage delivery are standard for Business Class.

Premium Economy offers a generous 38-inch (96 cm) seat pitch, 7-inch (18 cm) recline, 13-inch (33 cm) HD entertainment screens, ergonomic headrests, calf and footrests, and in-seat power. Travelers benefit from a curated Premium Economy menu, along with priority ground services.
