Emirates has expanded its Inflight Meal Preordering Service to cover 92 international routes.
The service is now available for 30 new destinations, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kuala Lumpur. To date, over 10,000 meal preorders have been fulfilled across 3,000 flights, with daily preorders exceeding 600 by Emirates passengers.
Business Class travellers can now reserve their main dish anywhere from two weeks to a day before their flight. This not only ensures passengers get their desired meal but also contributes to decreasing food waste. The top favourite dishes thus far include pan-fried beef tenderloin with thyme jus and roasted potatoes, grilled beef tenderloin with a mushroom sauce, and Suffolk roasted chicken. The most-ordered breakfast item is the cheddar & chive omelette accompanied by spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes.
In the cabin, the crew uses Apple devices to confirm and serve the pre-chosen meals. This preordering feature complements Emirates' advanced AI-driven customer preference system and crew feedback, ensuring effective menu design, precise food allocation, and waste reduction.
The meal preordering feature joins a range of digital services, such as online and app check-in, e-boarding passes, digital menus, and an easy Skywards sign-up for complimentary onboard Wi-Fi messaging. Furthermore, travellers can customise their inflight entertainment playlists prior to their journey.
