This week, Aeroflot – Russia’s national carrier - introduced a retrofit Business Class suite for its long-haul Boeing 777 fleet – just a year after it launched a new, slick Business Class cabin for its Airbus A350 aircraft.
The two cabins have two very different seat designs – but both offer passengers the added privacy of closing doors.
We reported a few weeks ago that Aeroflot is in the process of upgrading its entire service - in line with its Strategy-2028 initiative – as it aims to be one of the leading airlines in the world within just seven years.

Aeroflot currently flies twenty Boeing 777-300ERs – its total fleet comprises of 202 aircraft – and has now taken delivery of its first retrofitted plane. The airline expects two more of its 777 fleet to be retrofitted this year with the rest in the planning. Currently, the airline flies 30 Business Class seats in a forward-facing, 2-2-2 configuration.
There are 28 Business Class suites in the new cabin – configured in a 1-2-1, reverse herringbone layout – each with sliding doors. As the airline does not fly a First Class, this is its premier offering. The seats come with Jacquard upholstery, an extra armrest and a seat that turns into a 2-metre full-flat bed at the flick of a switch. The suites also boast an 18.5-inch HD monitor and the service will feature upgraded food & beverage offerings. The new cabin will also feature high-speed internet, latest generation multimedia in-flight entertainment system, audiobooks, games, children’s channel, flight map with city guides – the same as onboard its Airbus А350 fleet.
The Airbus A350 Business Class cabins features individual suites with lie-flat seats, enclosed by a closing door – also in a 1-2-1 configuration. It is not unusual for airlines to have different suites for different aircraft – it all depends on space available and ease of accessibility for both passengers and crew.
Aeroflot will operate the retrofitted Boeing 777 on all popular international and domestic routes, including Dubai, New York, Los-Angeles, and Vladivostok.
